We will have to do USG every 15 days till the baby is born and then weekly USG after birth.
If the hydronephrosis is persistent, we might have to do further investigations (Micturating Cystourethrogram which is an X-Ray taken when baby is passing urine) to look for Vesicoureteric reflux (reflux of urine from bladder to ureters and kidney). We will have to check for posterior urethral valves and treat them if present. Blood tests will help us determine functional capacity of the kidneys.
We may have to start antibiotics to prevent any urinary tract infection if VUR is present.
Next Steps
Serial ultrasonography of the kidneys after the baby is born is very important.
