Fetal kidney swelling
During my anomaly scan, Dr. detected swelling in my baby's left kidney (6.4 mm). But they said it's common and usually gets cured on its own. However, today when I went for 24 weeks scan, Dr. observed that swelling has increased (10.7 mm). He was saying there is nothing to worry, this may recover by 8th month and if not, then can be treated post delivery through medicines or surgery. The thought itself of any kind of surgery being performed on my newborn baby is fearful. Is there anything that I can do to help fix this issue before the birth of my baby? Any food that I should avoid? Any exercise that might help? Please advise.

Hello, no need to worry now. In most of cases kidney swelling called as hydronephrosis will resolve with time by time of birth or even after birth as well. That thing need to be monitored till it will be normal or it will require any treatment, but time will tell which will be course if treatment in your case. But it’s all curable, surgeries even in such small babies will be done only when that will be must, and safe.
