Hi It sounds like the small abrasion from the cow’s tail has triggered a much bigger wave of fear about rabies, and that tells me your nervous system is on high alert right now. Health anxiety can make very unlikely scenarios feel urgent and dangerous, even when the actual medical risk is extremely low. When the mind latches onto “what if,” it keeps searching for certainty, and that cycle itself becomes the distress. In therapy, we gently work on breaking this fear loop understanding why your mind is scanning for danger, learning how to calm your body first, and then challenging the catastrophic thoughts with clarity and balance. You don’t have to manage this alone. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

Hey, usually rabies is transmitted through body fluids, here as the tail only got brushed off, the chances of rabies are very less likely. But still, once consult a doctor nearby or online.

Rabies spreads through saliva of an infected animal, usually via bite or scratch that breaks the skin. A cow’s tail brushing your hand, even if it caused a mild abrasion, does not transmit rabies. There is no risk in this situation. Wash the area well with soap and water. If the abrasion is significant, ensure your tetanus vaccination is up to date. Your worry sounds more like health anxiety rather than actual exposure. Try to reassure yourself — this is not a rabies-risk event. If such fears are frequent or distressing, consider speaking to a mental health professional for support.
