Hi.
Ear pain after a cold is common as the nose congestion can easily spread to the ear through the tube connecting the ear and the nose, called the Eustachian tube. This causes inflammation behind the ear drum and hence pain.
Nose decongestants and steam inhalation are helpful. However, a detailed history and examination are required to ensure that this is the only cause for the pain.
Next Steps
Physical/ online consultation with an ENT specialist.
Health Tips
Avoid blowing the nose vigorously.
Donot use Nose drops without prescription from a registered ENT specialist.
