Down syndrome test
Can advice if down syndrome test is mandatory during first trimester? if not mandatory in which situation it is recommended to consider this test?
also pls provide how much it costs and what is the procedure?

It is important to screen for downs in first trimester as it is most reliable but in Singapore you need to follow that country ruling and follow the gynaecologist advice

Hi it's done at the starting of second trimester at around 12 weeks of pregnancy.
It is a simple blood test.
Different labs has different charges.
It is a biochemical test which is a screening test to look for risk of some genetic defects in a baby.
