Didn't take antibiotics
Hi i had an ear infection and i was prescribed amoxicillin and i took about 5 of them totally forgot about them until my throat/neck started hurting about a week later now it has been a week and a half and i have 5 pills left my throat still hurts was it a bad idea to take one now

There is no point in taking antibiotics irregularly. First of all it will not respond, secondly it will make the bacteria resistant and thirdly it is ineffective in viral infections. For simple sore throats, it is best to avoid antibiotics. Do salt water gargles, and take pain killers, waiting for the body's immunity to get over the infection.
