We are consulting a gynaecologist near home. Wife is having gestational diabetes. Doctors suggested she would give metformin to control it. Is it safe to give tablets during pregnancy. I heard that tablets are not safe for baby growth and it will harm the baby. Insulin is better during pregnancy

Hello.. Well metformin is safe during pregnancy...font worry about the safety...it's given in pregnancy also...if the situation demands then we can shift your wife to insulin or else this will be enough...go for regular follow ups...thank you
