Diabetes Guidance
I'm a 27 years Male (unmarried) with no any medical conditions until recently checked my blood sugar levels which was, 142 mg/dl Fasting, PPBS 204 mg/dl and HBA1C of 7.4%, mean blood glucose 166 mg/dl. As I was feeling more thirsty than normal and recently had very bad food diet, I decided to check my sugar levels, apart from it I don't have any other classic symptoms. There are many people in my family who have diabetes as well. I have consulted doctor and have been advised to be on strict sugar free diet and exercise till my next appointment. My concern is, I'm in a state where i have started worrying about my future life as I have heard people with diabetes talking more about being careful always and too much observation about themselves , which kind of putting me into depression thinking I can't lead normal life. I get into immediate worry when I hear keywords like diabetes, sugar, diet, gangrene etc., Trying to seek advise and guidance. Thanks in advance.

You have been diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. You can lead a normal life with healthy eating & regular exercise - 30 min/ day. I would suggest you to consult an Endocrinologist for further management. Start T. Gluconorm SR 500 mg 1-0-1 (after food) for 3 months. Recheck FBS PPBS HbA1C after 3 months, you can stop the medications when blood sugars are better controlled. There is absolutely no need to worry, because diabetes when controlled well & with regular follow up with endocrinologist, should have a normal & healthy life.

This is really a difficult condition at younger age so I can understand your mental state. Diabetes is having genetic predisposition. Better lifestyle and well aware diet habits helps in sugar control. You should consult to Diabetologist or endocrinologist for proper evaluation of diabetes and it's better management. Go for some test that helps to know the reason behind your disease. Wish you good health.
