De Quervain's pain wrist
My wife has developed sudden pain in wrist two days back. Even slight movement is very painful for her. It seems like de Quervain's disease. What kind of doctor should i consult. What should I do?

Hello. Sudden pain in wrist may be due to many reasons . Not necessarily de quervains tenosynovitis.. If it is so kindly get back to any orthopaedician to assess her. Its not worrying . Just apply cold packs to her wrist with a thumb abduction splint. Many prefer giving local anesthetics if pain dosent subide. I have seen good results for the same

Its a common senario in womens at reproductive age and also in arround child birth donot worry much avoid any OTC Drugs that may be cantraindication if there is any of above cases see some physio for couple of sessions do some icing thrice a day...

Being a physio I believe u have this problem due to arthritis changes issues swelling etc..so take physio rx..ice pack compression..nd mobilisation

u need to consult an orthopaedic surgeon.only he will confirm whether it is Dequirvains disease or not.he will treat u accordingly.

Hiiii,          You should consult physio first and go for tapping and ultrasonic therapy definitely it will give relief if pain is intermittent and if pain intensity is very hight then consult with ortho first.

Hello....... It's is a painful condition affecting the tendons on the thumb side of your wrist.Exact cause of de Quervain's tenosynovitis isn't known, any activity that relies on repetitive hand or wrist movement such as working in the garden, playing golf or racket sports, can make it worse ..consult orthopedic surgeon.
