Respected Sir/ Madam,
Please suggest the best hospitals for the treatment of Crohn's Disease. My son was diagnosed with ITB and put on AKT but showed positive results till 3 months only after which he started to have severe abdominal pains and again started to lose weight and appetite. Then we consulted another Gastroentrologist after nearly 6 months from where AKT was started who put him on medication for Crohns to which he showed positive results but only for 15 days during which he gained 2 kg but now he is again having pain and flare ups. Please suggest me the best hospitals

Based on the information provided, I assume that he probably has strictures (narrowings) in the small intestine. Two common problems which can lead to this situation are TB and Crohn's disease. Since he is not having an expected response to treatment of the above said ailments (assuming that correct medications have been administered), we must have some tissue samples (biopsy) of small intestine to arrive at a definitive diagnosis.
Next Steps
If the diseased area of the small intestine is present at the end portion of the small intestine (called terminal ileum) where it joins the large intestine, it can be accessed with colonoscopy and a biopsy can be taken. Otherwise it is best do a Laparoscopy (key-hole surgery) and take a piece of the affected small intestine (biopsy). In this way we can be sure about the actual problem and so can start a treatment which might actually work!
Health Tips
You should take him to a qualified super-specialist (medical or surgical Gastroenterologist).
