Cough in 7 year child
My 7 year kid hives and cough 7-8 months back. We had consulted doctor who prescribed Aerodil LS along with hives medicine. He had informed to give Aerodil syrup only if his cough does not subside even after using hives medicine. However through hives medicine itself his cough got treated and thus we didn't gave him Aerodil syrup. He then had cough in December end of last week and I had given him this Aerodil syrup for a week. He again now have started coughing today. Can I give this Aerodil syrup every time he has cough. Is it safe?

1) Ascoril LS Cough syrup is for wet cough and not for all the cough. 2) Try to asses the type of cough before prescribing medication if its Wet/Dry or due to Post-Nasal drip cough 3) Its a safe medication just see which type of cough 4) ) 7 year old kid with history of hive in past then there is a chance he might get hives again in future, so have a watch on it, and even it occursthen don't worry

Cough can be allergic, seasonal or viral Every time need not to take aerodil, it relive only symptoms, can take cetrizine in normal upper respiratory ingestion But better to take with physical consultation as on examination findings can tell better and treatment given accordingly
