Hi My partner and I wanted to look for contraceptives other than condoms and wanted to know if you have any recommendations? We came across a pill called Saheli(entchroman) and read a little about it. Wanted to know if it's safe for me. Thank you in advance for Your inputs

Hello, Ormeloxifene (saheli)(selective estrogen receptor modulator) may be used as a weekly oral contraceptive. To be taken twice weekly for first 12 weeks then once weekly dose, comparatively Better in both effectiveness and sideffects profile to other oral contraceptive pills. But Copper T insertion is the today's best method of preventing pregnancy , ones inserted into uterus can work for 5-10yrs (depending on type) with negligible sideffects and with some other benefits too. Please consult gynecologist to know more.
