My fathet who is 62 is diagnosed with colon cancer. Cancer tumor of size 2cm wide and 7cm long is present. It's location is 15cm from anal exit. Petct also shows few enlarged lymph nodes. Doctors have started with chemo(capegard 500 3tablets twice daily) and radiation (5fractions a week ,28 fraction). Doctors have said will need to check about surgery after radiation and chemo is done. Is this good plan ?

This is standard treatment for Rectal cancer with lymph nodes. This is followed by surgery. Further chemotherapy may need to be given if the biopsy report shows some risk factors
Health Tips
The gap between radiation and surgery is generally 6-8 weeks
