Hi,
My father was suffering from pain in his abdomen since Nov. I consulted a gastroenterologist and after blood tests, colonoscopy, CT scan, PET scan its confirmed he is suffering from Colon Cancer(tumour detected in colon between ascending and transverse colon). Doctor tried removing tumour inside his large intestine but it was not possible as cancer has spreaded in small intestine as well. So they didn't do complete surgery however they have installed chemoport now. I am being suggested for chemotherapy now. Please help me with proper channel so that I can do my best for him.
Thanks,
Rahul Bhosale

Your doctor would have taken biopsy of the tumor either during colonoscopy or during surgery.
This sample is sent for pathological examination and also to look for some particular mutations in the tumor DNA based on which targeted therapy (eg immunotherapy) along with Chemotherapy can be given.
Next Steps
Chemotherapy port is a very convenient way of administering chemo as it bypasses the need for putting an IV cannula (needle) in patient's hand. Also it's more aseptic too.
Since the growth is inoperable, Chemotherapy+/- immunotherapy will be suggested by your treating physician. I wish your father to have a complete recovery . best of luck!
