hello, You need to visit a dentist and get it checked. If there is a cavity in either of the wisdom teeth, it can be filled. But if there is infection to the root of the tooth, its better to get it removed. The best treatment for wisdom tooth is to get it extracted. Consult an oral surgeon for it.

Ma'am , if the mouth opening is enough to get a proper access to the tooth for removal of the decay and it's filling then it should be filled as soon as possible to avoid any further progression of the decay to the pulp (if the decay reaches till the pulp then RCT is done and chances of it's success are very less in a 3rd molar). But if the tooth is impacted then it's adviced to remove it.
Health Tips
Try to keep the area clean even after getting the filling done.

Hi.. Usually wisdom teeth don't contribute much for chewing based on location. Removal of them if they have cavity is the best solution. Based on your x ray, filling will help only temporarily. Finally one day you need to remove them. Regards

Hi, Wisdom tooth are vestigial that is we really don't need them and in coming generations it won't even erupt. Generally, it is advisable to extract wisdom tooth for the same reason. Also, absence of pain doesn't mean that the problem doesn't exist. If you will not get treatment done, your cavities will become deeper over period of time. Please visit a dentist near to you so that the best treatment plan can be decided.

We cannot come to a conclusion with the help of OPG alone.  We need to see clinically. We need to see the position of all four teeth...  Its occlusion ( contact with opposing tooth). All this requires direct clinical examination.

Hello, Mam,if there is access to the wisdom teeth and the cavities are not involving the pulp, then they can be restored. Also even if they are infected and in occlusion with the opposing teeth Root canals can be done to save these teeth. If they are impacted then removal is advised.Regards,Dr Sumanmakam, dental arts, jayanagar,Bangalore.

It is important to check clinically. Looking at opg there is chance that your lower third molar is partially covered with mucosa distally. If yes better get them extracted. If they are fully errupted and no mucosa or operculum there then filling will do.
