Cavity For 4 year old
Hi my 4 yr daughter has cavity in her teeth. We are in usa. Here they are advising for sedation. We are based out of chennai. We are apprehensive for sedation but also want her teeth issue fixed. We would like to get advise from your side if her teeth can be fixed without sedation without giving any anesthesia. If so we would take to chennai and get this done. If possible could you please share your number so that we can call and speak about this.

Mam sedation are commonly used in USA and other foreign countries. No major side effects associated with conscious sedation. In India we use sedation only if child is very uncooperative. If the fillings are small they can be easily treated without anesthesia.

Ma'am sedation is very common in western countries , they mainly do this so that they can complete the entire procedure without making the patient fell tired of opening the mouth for a longer time and moreover children at this age are uncooperative . In india also child specialist can use sedative if the child is highly uncooperative but generally try to do it without sedative.

Hi There is nothing to fear for sedation or general anaesthesia if carried out well Usually children at age of 4 lack cooperative ability it s not that they are uncooperative So we have to decide based on ur dental problem If many teeth are affected it's better for anaesthesia If only one or two teeth are affected and if it's simple treatment we can do it chairside without anaesthesia There are many factors to evaluate anaesthesia discuss with paediatric dentist

Conscious sedation has no side effects as such.... It's very commonly done in foreign countries..... Though in India it's done only when the child is very uncooperative. Performing any procedure on a 4 yr old under conscious sedation is good both for patient and operator.

Sedation is commonly done in western countries..It is mainly helpful in uncooperative children..If your child is very apprehensive about the dental treatment then it is a good option..But A specialist like us- pediatric dentist can manage it without sedation also in cooperative children..If you are planning to visit India soon then I recommend to get the treatment done here by a pediatric dentist..

Hello, A child can be treated without sedation also if the child is cooperative..And whether to get treatment done there or back home..Only depends on how urgent the procedure is..If the child is having too much pain or swelling etc it has to be attended immediately if not then you can bring her back home and get it done in India itself..As for sedation is concerned it is a way of doing treatment on children and it is very commonly done abroad..
