Catarrh and cough
Good morning Doctor, My 2year old boy has catarrh with yellowish discharge. He runs temperature too. He is currently on syr ibuprofen, ACT, syr Amoxil but no improvement. What do i do? Thanks as i want your response in due time.

hi 2 yr old usually develop viral infections , stop ibuprofen and start syp crocin ds or acetaminophen as you have not written weight i cant write dose but for 10 kg its approx 150 mg {see the label for mg of medicines in ml of syrup] add syrup of amoxacillin -clavulinic acid that will help ;again the dose is by weight and should be advised after seeing the kid,give him luke warm water ,honey and boil a few leaves of ocimum sanctum thats tulsi in 1 cup water and let it boil ,when it reduces to half please pour it in a container and add 1 tsp of honey {fresH} give it to child 3 to4 times a day,it will help.

As u live at Nigeria n 2 yrs old son, u should consult a paediatrician over there.it is not good to give ibuprofen at his age if not adv. by yr Dr.For proper dosage of Amoxil also u shud consult this Dr.
