You should consult a physiotherapist in person for complete assessment and treatment. You should take electro therapy for Carpel tunnel syndrome atleast for 10 sittings followed by exercise therapy.

Take TENS therapy for 2 weeks, apply ice pack thrice a day, the pain will get reduced and later with exercises you will gain back the strength.

There can be other reasons than Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to these symptoms. If you've already got it assessed, start with exercises as prescribed by your Physio. Supports and splints may help in some cases but not in all cases. Giving a break to hand function won't be enough go through a Physio consultation or treatment if not done yet.
