Hi, My son is having VSD when he was in 3rd month it was 10mm and now he is 2.4 yrs now the hole is 2.5 mm. but our doctor asking us to go for surgery. Please suggest.

Hi. Apart from size we need to look at other findings on echo heart to decide for surgery. Also how is weight gain? Any symptoms like breathlessness? Any medication? Generally we can wait for 4 yrs to allow for the VSD to close on its own. In your child it seems to be becoming smaller.
