Can we get rid of specs??
Hi i checked my eyes and they showed 0.5 and axis 60% 90% degree and other is something 6/6 both. Doc said u can wear specs actually i have problem to see from distance. My right eye gets blurr and the axis is 90% of right eye. I heard once we starts using specs then they never go away . full life we have to wear it. 3 6 month is fine if i get effect but for whole life..?

Hello your one eye is already 6/6 and in other eye there is minimal power, in my view you can read 6/6 without glasses. you can skip glasses in my view if there is no headache. you can meanwhile use flogel eyedrop for 1 week

If you want to see clearly you need to wear specs or contact lens or get the laser vision correction surgery. However for such less refractive error u may wear specs as and when required if your regular work does not involve seeing too far. Wearing specs is not a cure just like walking with a stick is not a cure for a limping person. And walking with a stick does not make a person dependent on the stick but he requires the stick lifelong if his disability is lifelong. Refractive error is a visual disability which is helped and not cured by spectacles. Hope this helps you in making a decision
