Fissure in Ano is a condition where there is a break in the anal verge/opening. It is usually caused by straining in toilet or repeated loose stools. Usually with right care it does heals within a month. If pain is persisting for a prolonged period of time, you should get yourself examined by the surgeon again to evaluate the current condition. Safe drinking can be followed with caution because excessive drinking is known to disturb bowel movements. Drink plenty of water, take high fiber diet.
