Calf Muscle Pain
My wife is complaining about calf muscle pain in both legs since 1 month and there is some swelling in ankle also. Normally doing regular work at home and during rest also the pain continues. After taking hifenac p 1 tab she is feeling relax but next day it remain same. So kindly advise for a permanent solution

This treatment is being suggested on bases of the information provided. However I would like to examine & investigate your wife in detail. -Control  Hypertension, Diabetes or  metabolic disorder, if there is any. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. --. Keep no pillow under the head. --. Avoid painful acts & activities. --. Fomentation with warm water. Get x rays of knee and ankle Hot water bags Gentle massage Avoid standing for long Keep her well hydrated Ankle and calf physiotherapy. Bilateral lower limb Doppler Take paracetamol for pain.. Consult if no relief

Dependant swelling is common in the leg and ankle after standing/ sitting with legs hanging for a long time.
Next Steps
Take rest. Keep the legs up most of the time. Keep the legs over 2 pillows while lying down. Keep the legs on a foot stool while sitting. Can use appropriate sized compression stockings if swelling persists. Get venous Doppler of the legs if problem continues even after following this advice.
