I'm doing gym workout from a week. I've done it earlier also but this time I'm feeling problem in breathing. Not always but sometimes I have to put a little effort to breathe. I feel like I'm suffocating sometime. Is it normal?

Its normal to feel that way if u r not used to physical activity since quite sometime( low effort tolerance) , although u shud visit a physician near by, just in case.
