Breastfeeding and diabetic
I am a mother of a 2 month old baby. I had a type 2 diabetes before and during pregnancy but after the delivery, my sugar levels returned to normal. I have been keeping a tab on my levels since then but from past few days my sugar levels are a bit high. Fasting /PP : 140/175 today’s reading. Should i continue my sugar medicines, I was on Riomet OD 1000mg. Please advice. Thank you

There is a higher chance of getting affected with diabetes later in life when you have Diabetes during your pregnancy. Since the sugar levels are not too high you can go on a trial of diet and lifestyle modification. Studies have shown that weight loss is associated with reversal of diabetes .
Next Steps
Consult your local endocrinologist so that he/she may examine you and suggest an appropriate dietary regimen
