Breastfeed while having herpes
My baby is 1 and half months old. I just got herpes on lips today. I will be taking occuvir tablet for the same and applying herpex cream on lips.
Is it safe to breastfeed my baby while having herpes? Is it safe to breastfeed her while taking the medication for the same?

This condition is contagious,do not kiss the baby,wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before feeds.
No,your meds will not cause harm to the baby.
