Bp is 140/90 and chest pain
My bp is 140/90 from last 20 days and have mild chest pain. All heart related test like ecg, echo, tmt are normal. Should I be taking bp medicine? My current doctor has not prescribed it but I get a feeling that I should be having it atleast for few days. My weight is 110 kg and currently he gave me only cholesterol tablet as my cholesterol is high. Please advise on bp medicine?

If your highest recorded BP is 140/90mmHg only than you don’t need any medicines if you are not kidney disease or diabetes patient. Only life style measure such as daily walking weight loss and no added salt should suffice. If chest pain persists get further work up done. It’s not related to BP

Bp medication have long term benefits Taking for few days will not change anything Try excercise and weight reduction it will decrease your bp Bp medication not started as we want to lower to 140/90 which you are so medicine won't help. Or you don't need it now at least.
