Bone fracture in CKD patient
Doctor, my mother had an elbow fracture. She is a CKD patient. An Orthopedic doctor is saying that it is not curable. What ti do ?

It is curable. If the patient is medically fit despite CKD. She can go for surgery. It will help in early mobilization and prevent stiffness. Consult for further opinion

It's not right to say 'its not curable' That is disheartening to an already suffering person. There are solutions to all problems. You may not get 100% results but functionality can be maximised. Technically in kidney disease bone quality and healing is very poor. Hence the skepticism.

CKD patient have fragile bones so there will be problem in healing of fracture But with modern technology and methods we can increase potential of bone healing

Hello Usually in CKD the bones become very fragile and weak because of loss calcium and the healing is usually delayed. Kindly provide the x ray to see.
