Any child less than 5 yr of age can have fits in fever , more so when there is family history . You need to consult a Pediatrician in case there is seizure of long duration, single side and more than 2 episode in fever phase .Each child is different ,give paracetamol for fever In adequate dose but still seizure can occur, so you need to know the precaution in case of seizure ,like turning the child to one side and not to put anything in mouth .Follow up with medical professional for regular checkups .
Next Steps
For reducing fever other than paracetamol ,tepid sponging can be done if child is not shivering , when in fever phase temp can be checked 6th hourly ...otherwise no need to check everyday .
Health Tips
In case of prolong seizure after precautionary steps ,visit a medical facility .Make a video of the seizure if possible .It helps pediatrician to understand the event better .

Keep an antipyretic syrup handy with you, whenever the baby becomes febrile, you need to administer the syrup in the right dose prescribed by your doctor. Routine monitoring of baby's body temperature is not recommended. You may check the temperature whenever the baby is febrile on touch or whenever the baby catches some infection.
Next Steps
You may keep anti seizure medicine (to control fits), if they recur, which is available as nasal spray, only after getting it prescribed from your doctor, and to be given in right dose to the baby.
Health Tips
Report to your doctor, if the baby gets fever again.
