I met an accident 7years ago and i am having plates in my back bone/ spine. Is it safe to go for bmd because i heared that we have to leave behind all metalic thing that we weared before going for bmd (machine). Please guide me on this...

go for bmd, plates pose problem for MRI in some cases, not BMD, but it is preferable to get bmd of hips, not spine if plate / screw fixation of spine are done
