Blood sugar 170after food
My mom was on medication Ramistar MXL 50 (m), Clopitab (a) and ecosprin 150 (a) and Xtor 20(n) since Feb which is reduced to ramistar MXL 50(M) and ecosprin 75 (n) since Sept. In April she had stomach infection and her blood sugar spiked though she had no previous history. Her dr said it cud be bcoz of infection and juices and glucose. We just got it checked 2days back and it is 85 empty stomach and 170 after food though the normal reading is given upto 140. Dr said it's normal. Is it anything to worry or needs consultation?

Post food blood sugar in the level between 140 and 200 is considered to be in the 'pre -diabetes' stage. A confirmatory blood test called as Hba1c will help. Whether or not it requires treatment depends on this report as well as clinical judgement.  It is better to visit a diabetologist.
