Definitely a high diastolic blood pressure should not be ignored and can be a sign of masked hypertension. I would recommend you to check your BP on three different days at three different times e.g. morning, afternoon and night and then note down those nine readings and get back to me... It is a tedious process but a time tested formula to unmask masked hypertension
Next Steps
Do get back to me or any other physician with those readings
Health Tips
Have a healthy lifestyle with atleast moderate physical activity and salt restricted diet

Yes it is unusual to have a high diastolic bp However one needs to factor in the time of bp reading, position, diet, and family history amongst many other. More than controlling bp, it is important to correct bp with the right medication. Would need to run a few tests to find the cause for this DBP. Kindly book an appointment to discuss this further
