Asked for Male, 34 Years

My Friend sister at a hospital due to abortion and in a need of blood donation. Doctor prescribed for a direct blood donation from vein to patient directly. Many of them said 'No' and asked to store in blood bag . I said okay ..but doctor asked to wait for 2 hours .. what is problem if i give directly my blood from vien to the patient directly ?

You might transmit some infection to her if you have it in your blood. The 2 hours was probably for testing your blood for any virus like HIV/HBV/HCV. Also your blood and her blood need to be cross matched , meaning, both blood will be mixed and seen under the microscope for any changes suggestive of reaction. There is no vein to vein transfusion in the world. Flow of any fluid needs pressure difference. Blood must be collected in bottle/bag and gravity fed into the patient by drip
