Black gums
2 to 3 gums (near the lateral incisor) of mine have suddenly turned black. They don't hurt and they dont bleed. I noticed it only because i saw myself in the mirror. What can the reason be?

The blackening of guns can arise from multiple sources. In some patients it is only Genetic. And it can be decreased by some gum procedures. Again it doesn't apply for all patients. Visit a dental clinic in your city to check. Hope this helped. Avoid self diagnosis and treatment.

Black colour of gums is due to melanin pigmentation.its normal in people with dark skin tones .
Some medicines , smoking..so many factors associated with this.
Mostly not harmful. It's better to leave like that.
If u need aesthetically good smile, visit near by dentist for cosmetic treatments to lighten your gums.

Melanin pigmentation in the gums is a common asymptomatic condition in the Indian population if not associated with tobacco consumption.
