Hi Your condition looks like a case of Lumbar spondylosis. As you are an athlete, try to not strain your joints with heavy exercises. Homeopathic medicines have a very good success rate when it comes to treating lumbar spondylosis. These medicines not only relieve the symptoms of pain, stiffness and numbness that are commonly seen but also allow the patient to regain complete range of motion. Once cured, one can easily bend forwards or sideways. There are medicines like Rhus tox, Bryonia, silica, Hypericum etc.which is specific for the cause, but full case taking is needed to find the correct remedy. So, it will be good to consult your nearby Homoeopathy doctor as follow ups are also needed .
Health Tips
Physiotherapy or other forms of exercise and  yoga have a good role to play in the long run in providing  a solution to this back pain due to lumbar spondylosis.

Homoeopathic treatment depends on various factors like type of pain,  intensity,  cause of pain, its radiation,  side of pain and modalities. So i suggest you to consult a homoeopathic physician. Avoid doing activities like lifting heavy weights. Use lumbar belt if your pain is severe. You can take Rhus tox 200 , 3doses, every 4hourly if your pain is acute and severe.
