Baby weight gain
My 2.5 months old baby is 4.42kg. She is a late preterm born at 36 weeks had 2 kg. Does 4.42 kg is enough at 2.5 months? How much a normal baby should weigh at 3 months and also at 6 months?

Your baby is doing fine. Books says baby weight should double by 5 months and 3 times by 1 year ( for average baby of 3- 3.5 kg). For preterm and under weight , we also want the catch up growth to occur. 40% of underweight baby catch up with other babies by 1 year. So a rough rule in your case is anything above 6 kg by 6 months and 10 kg by 1 year will be great. Your real struggle will start once , activity of baby increase and weaning is started. proper weaning is the key to catch up growth be constantly in touch with your child specialist for regular weight monitoring and general check up adn developmental assessment. you can also like and follow my facebook page for updates regarding general health issues of children. https://www.facebook.com/mayaclinic.in Website: http://mayaclinic.in/wpsite/

Weight is excellent, doubled in 2 months, wouldn't worry. Rather than a single weight serial plotting of weight, length, head circumference will give a better picture of how the baby is growing
