Hello I understand your concern At 2 months, babies commonly develop mild viral infections like a cold. The throat sound you’re hearing is likely due to mucus in the back of the nose or throat, since babies can’t clear it themselves. No over-the-counter cold or cough medicines No honey, herbal remedies, or vapor rubs directly on skin No antibiotics unless a bacterial infection is confirmed
Next Steps
Saline nasal drops 1 drop in each nostril, can be used every 2 hourly Continue exclusive breast feeding-feed in upright position
Health Tips
Red flags: Breathing fast (more than 60/min), chest indrawing Poor feeding or vomiting feeds Fever > 100.4°F (38°C) Lethargy or irritability Bluish lips or skin Apnea (pauses in breathing

Use a saline nasal drops like Nasoclear or Nasivin s saline drops thrice a day Can use a bulb aspirator to clear the nose after a saline drops insertion, if it’s not helpful. Very good ones are available in the market Keep the baby well hydrated - through breastfeeding ( good feeds) Can prop up the head to relieve breathing Often a humidifier in the room is helpful
Next Steps
Go stepwise as elaborated
Health Tips
Oral cold and cough medicines are not advisable at this age If baby develops fever, respiratory distress, cough, change in alertness or feeding please contact for a physical checkup immediately
