Baby' crying after sleep
My baby girl is 3 yrs old.She usually cries after waking up and she keeps on crying sometimes for around 30-45 minutes n it's really very difficult to calm her down with cuddles or gentle touch or any other disraction..Earlier she used to do like that at night but now she has started doing it after her afternoon naps. She is very rigid n stubborn when we say no for anything she asks for.It has always been very diificult to put her in bed...A big struggle for us.For every small thing, she is cranky n expresses only by crying. Please suggest how can we help her and ourselves

There seems to be something that is making her feel uncomfortable. Please consider all possibilities and investigate to find out the exact cause. A child crying without overt provocation could be due to: 1). Physical causes eg., (a). Uncomfortable temperature such as a cold Air conditioner, (b). Lack of fresh air, (c). Mosquito or other insect bites, (d). Chemical mosquito repellents causing irritation to her upper respiratory tract, (e). Uncomfortable ill fitting synthetic clothes, (f). Hunger for food etc., 2. Psychological causes eg., (i). Feeling insecure because of your absence from home during work hours (ii). Abuse of the child by caretakers. This could be again physical, emotional or even sexual (iii). Craving for bonding with a mother who is unavailable during daytime and asleep during the night. 3). Medical causes eg., a health issue which could be as simple as a urinary tract infection or indigestion of food. My thinking favors more of the insecurity angle. Your child might be craving for your love. You may need to be demonstrative with your love for her such as by embracing her genuinely for longer than the usual hug, touching, patting gently and caressing while putting her to sleep, singing a lullaby, reassuring her, sharing your daytime silly stories, playing games together etc.,
Next Steps
But keep in mind the possibility of child abuse. If you are leaving the child in the care of a domestic servant you may consider installing hidden cams to see what is happening during your absence from home. This is not to frighten you but to prepare you from all angles. Get her examined by a pediatrician to rule out all possibilities of abuse. Speak to your child in a gentle confidential manner and ask her if anybody is troubling her during your absence. Please do not overdo it because children readily take up suggestions and say yes it happened even when it did not.
Health Tips
Now, relax. You sleep well and your child will sleep too. For all your worries it could be as simple as she needing some physical exercise. Why don't you consider enrolling her in yoga, karate or some classical dance classes!
