Varies 1) different hospitals follow respctive protocols As per the local antimicrobial resistance 2)also depends upon the operation theatre in which surgery is done eg. Modular OT vs standard OT 3)Patient's immunity also plays a major role So in a nutshell believe in your hospital whichever antibiotic they provide is best for you..
