Sleeping doesn’t alter the levels of Troponin. You can give this test anytime. The troponin is a protein found in the heart muscle. It will rise only when there is a damage to the muscle of the heart. However it may falsely rise with underlying infection and kidney disease. Troponin is a test done as an emergency to rule out if there is a heart problem or not. Usually, it is to be done as soon as the doctors advise it. They may even ask to repeat it after a period of time. If negative, it only rules out the probability of you have a heart pain at that time. A negative Troponin would not predict a lack of heart problem in the future.
Next Steps
Get a Troponin done if your cardiologist has advised. Meet the cardiologist urgently if the value is abnormal.

Yes its OK... Anytime Having a pain, heaviness or discomfort in & around your chest can be scary. It does not always mean that you are having a heart problem. There can be many other causes, including 1. Other heart problems, such as angina Panic attacks 2. Digestive problems, such as heartburn or esophagus disorders 3. Sore muscles 4. Lung diseases, such as pneumonia, pleurisy, or pulmonary embolism 5. Costochondritis - an inflammation of joints in your chest Someof these problems can be serious.
