Sgpt and SGOT high

Had very un healthy life for last 10 days, did had sleep for 6hrs a day, worked in very chilled environment in office, had nonveg (chicken, crab, bird, prawn, chicken liver, egg) twice a day daily had 3 beers in 10days, on third day from last beer consumption i have given sample for LFT. I am having gilberts syndrome condition. SGOT 53*, SGPT 45*, TOTAL BIL 2.5*, DIRECT BIL 0.5* INDIRECT BIL 2.0. Are these elevated values are in serious state on my health does this require urget visit to doctor, or can i wait for 15 days and retest and reach doctor.

Hello Although you have Gilbert's syndrome, elevated SGOT/SGPT need evaluation. The causes could be secondary to Alcohol or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or secondary to any hepattotropic virures. You need to meet your physician/gastroenterologist for further evaluation inlcuding Ultrasound of abdomen and blood tests. It need not be urgent. But first you need to stop alcohol. Take care.
