At the age of 51 years she should have attained menopause. Seedling fibroids usually do not cause any problems unless the fibroids touch the endometrium (the inner lining of the uterus). There are some medicines that can suppress fibroids but should be taken under medical supervision. If your doctor says surgery is required, it is better to remove the uterus as well as the ovaries and the tubes. Open surgery can be done or laparoscopic hysterectomy can also be done. One to two months of rest is desired after surgery.
Next Steps
She should undergo a D&C for endometrial biopsy and a PAP smear of cervix.
Health Tips
She needs to undergo a through check up to evaluate the cause of bleeding.
