Schooling for Autistic Kid

2022-03-27 08:07:56
My son is 4 years old. Recently he was diagnosed with pervasive development disorder or mild autism. Currently he is not verbal much, he uses sign language when he wants something. He speaks alphabets, numbers, colors & rhymes. He was going to normal play school earlier but that time he was not diagnosed with autism. He could not continue going to school due to sleep issues. He used to do the activities in school but couldn't mingle with other kids & got scared seeing them. I wish to send him to school again. Shall I send him to main stream school or special school. Or shall I do occupational therapy besides sending him to normal play school. Please suggest.

U have to take him to autism centre where clinical psychologists and doctors will assess him and would advise u what and how many therapies would be require. And they will advise u with schools also as they have associations. But u should not delay as after 5 years improvement chances lessen. If proper care taken he will improve very nicely and efficiently.

Good afternoon I will recommend personally to send him to special school because there will be given more time to understand things better and won’t be in stress all the time Try to discuss Thanks
