Rat bite , do I need rabies injection

A rat bit my 2 finger and thumb. The bite was  shallow, not deep   and the wound healed on its own . On one finger it's teeth didn't even  puncture skin. i had tetanus injection injected. Do rats Carry rabies? Do I need to get rabies injection too? Please help and guide Thanks in advance

No rat bites don't require rabies vaccination, but they do cause leptospirosis, so kindly be careful and incase you develop fever in the coming days kindly visit the ER and get a Lepto IgM test done.
