hello there. hernia is caused by a defect in the abdominal wall muscles through which the contents come out and its called hernia. what we do in surgery is strengthening of abdominal wall muscles defect with sutures and a mesh. so basically the treatment has to be strengthening the defect which can be done only by surgery. hope my answer helps. regards
