The above syrup is used for cold, runny nose, and dry cough, it is generally not recommended routinely in children under 6 years unless specifically advised by a doctor.
Combination cough syrups may cause drowsiness, irritability, or upset stomach.
Cough and cold in children are usually viral and self-limiting in 5–7 days.
Over-the-counter cough suppressants do not shorten illness duration and may cause side effects.
