Hi, It is not common to treat a mallet finger surgically if bone fragments or fractures are not present. Surgical treatment of the damaged tendon usually requires a tendon graft — tendon tissue that is taken (harvested) from another part of your body — or even fusing the joint straight. Consevatively if possible then you can use mallate finger splint also ,there are many types of mallate finger splint.. Thank you.

initial treatment of mallet finger is with a mallet splint. treatment options vary based in what has caused it and if it is associated with bony fracture. other options include surgery which include various techniques of correction of deformity. but outcome is variable. should see a sp3cialist hand surgeon.
