May i know the reason why it was prescribed?. Yes it ok. But usually prescribed for not more than 4 weeks . You can try to reduce . Other non addictive hypnotics also available. Kindly contact a psychiatrist for the same.

Some medicine u have to continue for a while but some are always taken after doctors advice. U must consult ur doctor or psychiatrist to start or stop ur medicine. Yes , it may causes side effects like when u stop taking it ,insomnia occurs. I suggest u to take homoeopathic treatment along with it , so that withdrawal symptoms are not cone out.

Well question is why are you taking it in the first place? Lonazep although a safe medicine has dependence potential and shouldnt be stopped suddenly. Sleep problems are usually secondary to psychological stress and require evaluation by a psychiatrist. It is similar to putting a band-aid on a gaping wound that requires sutures. Consult psychiatrist for diagnosis and treatment
