Hi Doctors,
I am a new mother, and my baby is currently in NICU.
The baby was diagnosed with jaundice and received phototherapy a d now the jaundice levels are low around 10.
My query is if me having haldi(turmeric) in my diet or in milk will have any effect on babies health as he is having low levels of jaundice ?
Please guide.

Haldi or any other food taken by the mother doesn't affect the baby's jaundice. The treatment of jaundice lies in adequate feeding of the baby and phototherapy if needed. There are no such restrictions on mother's diet.

1.keep breastfeeding the child for early recovery or as advised by your pediatrician
2. Mother should take a nutritious diet rich in calcium, iron, fibre. Drink plenty of fluids
