Hi .. I recently got a health test done from Thyrocare. My blood report indicates something called as "Hypochromia". Cam someone please explain what this is

Hi there....hypochromia means hypochromic anaemia. That means your red blood cells are pale. This happens due to several reasons, mainly iron deficiency, which is very common among Indian women. Start taking food rich in iron like green leafy vegetables. However few other causes for hypochrmic anaemia are drug induced, alcoholism, chronic liver or renal diseases. Hence please take your reports and consult a general physician for further evaluation. You might have to get further blood tests like iron profile to confirm the disease.
