Since you say you have put on weight suddenly, I would suggest getting a
thyroid profile test done and if you are experiencing any problems with menses, a USG also done.
High protein diet, eggs whites pulses etc would help you. Low carbohydrate diet will help you further.
Cardio excercises are the best for weight loss.
You must be taking in less calories than required and burning more than what you have taken in.
Hit the gym.
